driftwood/Driftwood

Through the auspices of Newfoundland’s poet George Murray and his online poetry courses, Sheila has returned to poetry after many years away. It has something to do with finding her way into life on the southwest coast after over 40 years of living in the mountains near Smithers. She now lives in her old family home right on the shores of Malaspina Strait; the ocean and its shifting intensities have drawn her into new explorations of language and landscape.

Driftwood contains poems written in Driftwood Canyon before the move. driftwood reflects the new/old landscape she now inhabits.

Printed by Patricia Letterpress on post-consumer fibre paper manufactured under sustainable practices, driftwood/Driftwood is hand-stitched and bound. The cover is cut from re-purposed file folders.
